Factors to consider when planting fragrant gardenias flower.

1. Soil

They prefer moist, well-drained soils that are acidic and have a lot of organic matter. Good drainage prevents water retention hence no cases of root rot. Do not let the soil dry out before watering. A mixture of soil and perlite is the most ideal media.

2. Light

These plants need bright light and under partial shades. Morning sun is ideal for their growth. If their roots are covered with mulch, then the plants can tolerate full sunlight.

3. Water supply

Mist the leaves and water the roots. These plants love a humid surrounding.

4. Temperatures

Do not expose them to too much heat. Similarly, do not expose them to too cold temperatures. These plants don’t thrive in low temperatures. However, slightly high temperatures can favor the blooming process.

5. Pruning

Gardenias are so different from other indoor plants. No pruning is done since they produce buds on both new and old growth hence when the buds are removed, they will turn into flowers.

6. Propagation

They are propagated by use of stem cuttings. The cuttings are then dipped in a rooting hormone and then planted in a mixture of soil and perlite. They can later be transplanted.
