Cymbidium Orchid Plant

Cymbidium Orchid Plant is an evergreen flowering plant that is rarely leafless saprophytic with pseudo bulbs.

Their botanical name is Cymbidium spp.

How to grow Cymbidium Orchid Plant?

• Choose an appropriate container with the size of your preference.
• Choose the best potting mix that is well-draining. This could be peat moss, perlite, bark, volcanic rock or sand. The mix should be rich in nutrients too.
• Add fertilizer to the potting mix and then moisten it.
• Place the plants in an area with good indirect sunlight until new growth is visible.

How do you take care of Cymbidiums?

1. Lighting

Provide as much light as you can but avoid direct sunlight that may cause sunburns. Bright but indirect sunlight is the most ideal.

2. Temperature

They love bright but cool areas. Cool temperatures always trigger the spiking of flowers.

3. Watering

Water thoroughly but less infrequently. Do not overwater so as not to cause sogging. Similarly, do not underwater to avoid cases of wilting.

4. Fertilizer application

Add fertilizer, Green Jungle Orchid Food to be specific, to speed up the rate of plant growth for a healthy plant.

5. Pruning

Prune by deadheading any spent blooms that show signs of wilting.

Prune by cutting off any dead roots that protrude above the container.

Removing any dead or discolored leaves and flowers by Pruning.

6. Soil

Different media have been used to grow Cymbidiums. The best media should be well-draining and rich in nutrients.
